stop with the guns

i heared about this sad insedent on radio 1 xtra and thought that i would write to you. when i realised that you were only 16 i felt a lump in my neck, 1 year younger than myselfe and already in the sky with the angels. why would somebody feel the need to play god and take away the life of a young boy. if the person who did this is too read these coments then i would like him to know that no matter what was said or done to inflict violence, there was no need to take away this boys life. like the notorious b.i.g said, never wish death on nobody, because theres no coming back from that. and to james's family and close friends, may god bless you all, keep your heads up.... bye

Yet another kid dies.

Firstly i pass on my condolences from the heart to James family, relations and friends.

I used to work as a Police Officer in London from the 70's to 1999. I worked in several areas including Brixton, Clapham, North London and eventually Streatham. The use of guns to committ murder has become so common that it no longer makes the front page, we no longer gasp at such crimes. I am glad that I no longer work as a police officer as I found it increasingly difficult to accept yet another youngster died in a hail of bullets and little has been done to deter people from carrying guns or knives. Amnosty bins....fine but wheres the deterrrent after...the mandatory sentence. Guns are know becoming fashion accessories. It has to change.

I hope in time the grief eases for all those near to James, his mother, father, brothers, sisters and family. Unfortunately to the rest of us poor James at the young age of 16 will simply become a statistic.

My deepest condolences

I never knew this young man nor had i met him,I heard of this tragedy yesterday. While sitting with my 10 yr old son,and my heart sang, and immediately felt for his mother my darling your pain must be so great i cant imagine. He has gone to a good place no more harm can come to himand with time those memories will overwelm you with joy.For those kids out there carrying guns and knives they dont make you big nor strong it just shows how weak you are.Your tongue is what makes you strong using your mind would overwhelm and without blood shed.To this family MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I never knew James or his family, but I live near Streatham Ice Rink, and to have something as terrible as murder happen so close by, really opened my eyes to the fact that it could happen to anyone. I'm personally still in shock, that a guy, who was only 16 (my age), got taken away so suddenly, in a place and at a time, where to be honest, you wouldn't expect it. (After all it was a youth disco.)

All I can say is that all of my heart goes out to James' family and friends - you'll be going through the most difficult time of your lives, but I hope you can get through it and live forever with James' wonderful memory to get you through. I also know that I feel so terrible for James himself. To have died in that way, so unexpectedly. I hope you rest in peace and that justice, but not revenge, is arrived at. It is also my strong belief that those people who are most extraordinary get taken away from us too soon, because it seems like they were too special for this life.

with all my heart, RIP James.

Mindless violence

I sit and I weep for this young man and most of all for his family. I have 3 boys and I am scared witless of this happening to my family. Each time I read about a young life taken I feel so hopeless as I cannot do anything to comforth the family and take away the pain and I can do nothing to protect my children and prevent this from happening. Losing a life at any age is painful, to have it torn away in this way is indescribable. If any of you so called gang members, whether linked to this crime or not, read this, remember one day you will be parents and if you allow this to go on now this is going to be so much worse for your children. It needs you to all stand up and fix up!!! Stop this madness, you think you won't get caught, maybe not, but one day your consciences will catch up with you and this will bring with it payback. It is up to all of you 'big shots' 'you soldiers' etc to lay down your weapons and learn to walk away like BIG MEN!!! How many more young people have to die? How many more families have to be ripped apart? Think about it, can you imagine your Mothers having to weep for you? Do you want your children to lose their Dad at a young age? If you are giving it out it will come right back at ya!! Think long and hard about what you are creating here.

MY deepest sympathies to all of the family and friends of young James. Especially his immediate family - I am so sorry.
